submission guidelines
HAVE A STORY TO TELL?
- Submissions for our 2025 shows will be accepted on a rolling basis. Please send your submission to storycollectiveboulder@gmail.com.
- All stories must be true, first-person accounts. The storyteller should be the main character in the story.
- You can either send us your complete story or send a story sketch (i.e. 1-2 paragraphs describing the arc of the story; what happened and how it changed you).
- Stories should be 7-8 minutes when read aloud or approximately 1300-1400 words. Memorization is not required—we prefer that you read from the page.
- Stories must have a connection to the theme and reference it. (See upcoming themes on our Events page.)
- Storytellers should attend a rehearsal the week of the event. Exact time and date to be determined, but will likely be an afternoon or evening for approximately 2 hours.
- Our producers will work with the storytellers to develop and shape their stories.
